In the Swedish technical specifications (and I suppose they say the say in Germany) Niro has a top speed of 162 km/h which of course it hasn´t. It´s much higher than that - 200? 210?
What interests me here is NOT it´s top speed, which for me is totally unimportant, but the reason why KIA publishes that figure and not a more realistic top speed.
They tested the 0-100 kp/h in Sportmode, with the EV combined I guess. So I question why they did not for the VMax-value.
top speed and acceleration are messured for the case that the battery is empty, so without the support of the EV. 0-100 acceleration with EV is 10.0 sec, Top Speed should be around 190, but 200 or more seems to me too much

That raises the question if Niro would function at all, when the day comes and the battery is completely dead......

No, I don't think that the Niro would function without the battery. If the fuel is low, the system already starts warning of damaging the battery. If gasoline is empty, the Niro maybe could go some meters on EV only, but the deep discharge of the battery will cause damages. So as long as fuel is available, the Niro will never leave the battery discharge to zero. But if the battery power is already low, the fuel engine will recharge the battery and the Niro will not use the EV for instance.
@fullkoll : völlig ohne Li-Batterie kannst du den Niro nicht anlassen. Außerdem müsste er dann immer mit Kupplung anfahren. Auch am Berg. Das wird nicht funktionierten.
Wie es sich dann mit dem Bremsen verhält ist mir unklar?
10.0 von 0 auf 100 schaffe ich nicht. Ich liege bei ca 11 - 11.5 und das ist logischerweise mit Akkuunterstützung. Ohne wäre es deutlich mehr (1,6t mit 105 PS!!).
Die in D angegebene Höchstgeschwindigkeit ist eine auf Dauer erreichbare, deshalb bei leerer Batterie. Alle Autos, die ich bisher hatte, fuhren (per GPS gemessen) deutlich schneller als die Werksangabe.

Kann sogar wirklich sein.
War einer der Gründe, warum ich mich für den Vision mit ADA entschieden habe und KEINE Lederausstattung (Elektr. Vordersitzeinstellung, Sitzheizung hinten).
Je mehr eingebaut ist, desto mehr kann auch kaputtgehen und zusätzlich wird der Wagen schwerer.
Der Motor ist aber in allen Varianten der gleiche...
vielleicht messen die bis Tacho 100???
Ich messe mit torque und das stoppt automatisch bei GPS 100
Ansonsten bitte keine Anspielungen auf mein Gewicht...
